Just something I doodled while waiting for the Sudafed to kick in so I can go to bed. Originally I was thinking of Frey's most powerful spell in Pathfinder, Incinerate, which I loosely mimic'd in a recent thread, where he grabs his target and flash-burns them from the inside out. Interestingly, Dark Souls 3 wound up having a similar spell which further cemented it as an ability in Frey's repertoire.

Then it also started reminding me of other iconic scenes for me and I just kinda made it whatever.

That said, oh wow I love the shading in this one. The page effect also really sells this to me. There's still a very nice vintage feel here that adds some sass to the usually demure Langhuamon.

Posting this as I think I made a major fuck-up on her skin. Somewhere I got the idea that there was a darker-green pattern on the skin and that's where the darker shade comes from on my piece compared to Cam's version of the coloring.

For some reason when I designed Soma for season 4 I put a pair of rings on his left wrist. I figured it was some connection to Ringmon. After a bit...the rings just didn't seem right, so I've been wanting to redesign it to pair more with Ringmon.

Came up with this, a bracelet armed with smaller Dragon Jewels. It's function will be revealed later.

I think the use of grey lineart instead of strictly black was a great choice for this. Definitely helps the hazy feel of the bloom effects. And I second Cam's feeling of this being Bayonetta-esque in terms of scared boners xD The heart in the background also kind of reminds me of the full moon used in the game art.

Well when I think about Courage for Celia, I don't exactly picture a calm, confident woman. It sounds like Courage makes them more courageous than usual, at the cost of making it so they don't think as clearly. So in my eyes, I see that as Celia basically being Extra Reckless. I mean, that's what it sounds like.

Considering how much Celia loves the thrill of combat, this form makes sense to get pretty wild-eyed and manic. A Celia with nothing to fear and an extra oomph in all her blows would be in a damn constant state of violent excitement.

To express differences, I would imagine Ferocity to be a more feral approach, like a wild beast relying solely on brutal instinct to tear her foe to pieces, while Wrath, which I am designing, would be absolute mindless destruction. No purpose or focus. The feeling I want to evoke with Wrath!Celia is an uncontrollable force of nature. Courage!Celia is the one who just loves to fight more than anything, excitedly wooping and hollering as she gives it her all to take down her foes.

I haven't drawn in awhile. Hell, the last h-pic I did I started months ago and only just recently finished.

Work has been stressful and I am on the anniversary of my third year of teaching in which the administration decided I was expendable and uprooted my entire life. It was only just earlier this week that I found out my current district does not play the same way and my employment is secure. In that stress I have generally taken plots I already had in mind and amped up the despair by ten, breaking the backs of characters I already tortured back through seasons 2 and 3. Soma has been getting the worst of it, becoming a walking ball of stress and obligations and general lack of faith in his own abilities in comparison to those around him, which in turn makes him grow to hate people he loves. He feels he needs power, he needs to know how to dismantle everyone around him, and he needs to be seen as capable when he already is.... but having been through that feeling this entire year that is a horribly difficult feeling to shake.

I haven't really drawn my people in awhile. The last time I put art up with even a smidgen of my creations was back in October 18th, 2016, and before that the 8th. Everything else has been by request or sudden idea. I looked in my reference folder and found I hardly had refs of MY characters. Hell I didn't even have Soma in there and he's my main character, the goggle boy.

After talking with Jason I managed to finally get something out. I want to give my characters some love. I've basically been beating them down while showcasing everyone else and as their RPer that's unfair to them. Maybe this can be something of a start.

Soma and ShiningLanzermon showcased. Maybe tomorrow I can move to line work.
