I am digging the more mature look, and that's saying something considering I try to add little touches like baby fat and more roundness to better portray youth.

That said, the girl has been through some shit, having to be more mature than expected especially in the early days of Soma's death.

It was fun watching you draw this. I believe the first step in taking over a character is really trying to make the designs your own. Make them something you are comfortable with looking at and the stories become easier to do.

......Um... THIS. I mean... damn you made the extra weight look good on her. The added roundness looks DAMN good on her and I'm glad you could translate her head better than I did originally.

I think the graphic for her eyes during DE usage could use a little work. The numbers around them are a good start but maybe an additional line or two around the pupil might help. Try looking at the mutant Psylocke for telekinetic graphic ideas.

And here, good people, we have the Fusion Drive, the core of every Genomon out there. All cores are shades of green until the Digimon gain intelligence, in which case it changes color to match their personalities. Command-Types tend to have customized colorations for their drives.

As for how they function normally, in the event a Genomon is captured the Drive is set to launch from the body using an installed rocket and open up a Digital Gate to the Shai-Hulud. In the event that escape is not possible, they explode.

..So yeah!

I always dig your diagram style drawings. It really helps add to the depth of the entire game.

The binary code is cool looking too, though maybe next time you should try to curve the numbers along the edges and warp them some to show that they're wrapping around the core to form layers since I think that's what you were going for. Overall awesome design.

So yeah, Genomon are made up a plethora of Digimon DNA (DDNA). Certain DNA strands aren't meant to mix, such as Beast and Dragon, which created the more feral Genomon that were seen earlier in the game. Vaati is the first Genomon to be able to combine the two warring genetic types. The Fusion Drive, which was something else the early Mass Production Type Genomon lacked, handles the remaining DDNA strands.

Shown here is Vaati, DDNA type Beast/Dragon/Insect as his primaries. Also of note, the number of matrix a Genomon has denotes intelligence. Vaati possesses nine. The only Genomon with a full ten is Eve, the Genomon MOTHER, though theoretically any female should be able to achieve this... so long as we can get past the fertility issues.

I wanted to do a comparison bit between the Zero Unit, the Digital Hazard, and the Lost Drive, as well as get an idea of what the Lost Drive's patterning on Akurei's flesh-and-blood arm/his body really looks like when the Drive starts acting up.

I think I've got a good general idea, and it keeps a nice synergy--the Zero Unit is into rounded, organic shapes, the Hazard is all about pure straight circuit lines, and the Drive is a hell of technocircles.

I went with blue as a basic color because of the old Sync Conduit design--also the sky-blue was Lenore's color back in Akurei's Dark Evolution thread. >_> So yeah.

Din (power) created the world. Nayru (wisdom) created the law, and Farore (courage) created life to uphold and follow that law.

I don't know about the Hazard playing any role in creating the Digital World, but the Sync Conduit keeps things in check and the Zero Unit created life to act upon those laws set by the Sea of Memories.

We really should make a banner of these three at some point in their forms.

Well the retcon has it that the Sync Conduit's more a...finishing component of the Lost Drive. It's there to keep it from trying to auto-balance everything around it or call dead people out of the Sea or eat its user alive.

With all this here Whitney art and Mariah drawing Kasumi, I decided to sit down and sketch out the girl's season 3 outfit, generally what she takes to wearing after the Alma Retrieval Arc. The shades are quite special, with the lens receding back if Kasumi wants to use her DE in a hurry. Though she has more control over her DE, she is still afraid of activating it without wanting to.

Now she still digs the gothic lolita style of dresses and the fancy underwear, but this is more for function. Oh, and she stops wearing the hats. Figure that's Camille's thing for the sake of differentiation.

I'm kind of on the fence about make-up in general. I'm not sure why. I mean, even on Mariah's pic. It could work, but I don't think the color works that well with her. Perhaps a different color? Green seems... strange.

Besides that, though, I really like the outfit and how her drills have sort of toned themselves down since her initial design, but retains the 'Kasumi' in them.

As a 'function'/'business' design though, in the end I really like this design. 83 It even retains the orange ribbons! Which is a plus to me. ^ o^

I do agree with everyone on liking the sort of functional/business design while working in the orange ribbons. It's a very Kasumi-color scheme.

I'm also kinda with Jess. I do not at all dislike the eye shadow, just not entirely sure how well the green goes with all the other colors.

The eyeshadow works to make her already crimson eyes pop since green and red are complimentary. Also, eyeshadow helps direct eyes of others to looking at her eyes. Since her hypnosis is based on sight, the makeup serves as an advantage.

That and I like the color green.

Funny you mention the Luka thing. I did base Whitney's dress off of my original costume design for Luka... granted most of that design was in the sleeve-work. The rest of Whitney's outfit is classic empress-style waist-line.

Also doodled on the right is the complete "Oath of Order" symbol of the Crna Zmija assassins who raised him and his sister Arina.

Tried a pretty direct perspective, not entirely happy with how it and the proportions turned out, but it's serviceable enough.

I think Alma's going to have to invent the DU equivalent of Biomerging, given her...situation. It's just not practical to have her like...hanging off of them, and having her ride atop them while fused by her legs or whatever is just a little too weird. o 3o; Regulus does Spirit Evolution, sorta, so...it kinda works?

I like how he came out, though. Especially the luminescent sigils and shit. Scales aren't as good. Fucked up on those.

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the castle,
sat the remnants of a party -- a lampshade, a tassel...
There were santa hats, elf ears, and a stocking; just one,
hung on the wall by Glory, then left up, just for fun.

All the Tamers passed out, most in their own beds,
some face down on couches, sleeping off pounding heads.
The 'mon in their phones or asleep in Disguise,
soon in the great hall, a strange noise did arise.

There were chitters and chatters and squeaks all around,
strange that no one seemed to be drawn to the sound.
Soon followed crashes, and squeals, and thumping,
one might dare think it was animals fu-~mping...

But above the great hall, one had heard all the clatter,
and left their warm bed to see what was the matter.
In her red night dress and a small flame for light,
she almost expected to break up a fight.

As she slowed to a stop by the door to the hall,
the noise quieted down some, when a thud on the wall
made her jump and cry out, in surprise and in worry.
With a hop and a step, in the door she did scurry.

She dodged a flung star as it flew towards her head,
then falling garland and some lights, colored red.
That stocking that had hung on the wall by itself,
now seemed to have single bat-shaped shelf...

No, that wasn't right, that's a wing poking through!
And that mistletoe now has a bat attached too?
One santa hat-clad elf-bat, one who'd finished the nog,
another under the table, loudly sawing a log.

They were all around and not one seemed to care
that now one of the Tamers had shown up there.
The Corebats continued their carousal with glee
at least four of them focused just on the tree...

Three seemed fascinated by the fireplace burning,
two seemed interested in a wreath that was turning.
One had torn santa clothes off of a statue nearby,
and another seemed to have Camille's-- oh my.

Cross was asleep, on a bag full of... air?
Is that Clef on the floor, just over there?
One couldn't get into a hat, though was desperately trying,
and... was that Firefang, and some mistletoe, speed-flying?

There's Ganymede on a table, over whom he flew.
He passed over Elf-Dirge... and Elf-Rikibat too,
then crashed into RuneTooth, and Banker, and Pax,
who had been fascinated by forgotten snacks.

On the top of the tree, the star she had dodged,
was replaced by Batowski, almost camouflaged...
...by the lights and the tinsel he'd tangled himself in,
though he sat up there now, asleep with a grin.

The girl found herself caring less and less
about the impact of this great big mess.
The red moon outside, lit up this great hall,
batheing things crimson from wall to wall.

The lights and decor now hung all askew,
the scene now picked up its revelry anew.
The bats they were flying and dancing about,
even seeming to forget Firefang's wipeout!

The ones who had slept, all now woke took flight,
joining those in the air on this magical night.
Though not one left the castle, nor even the room,
the sudden ascendence had lifted the gloom.

As if well-practiced, set to music unheard,
the girl watched the bats frolic without speaking a word.
As they spun and they flew and cavorted about,
she forgot what it was that had summoned her out.

Growing tired and calm with each flickering light,
she kept trying to watch, but could no longer fight.
Taking what she would swear was only a blink,
She awoke in her bed, still unable to think.

Recalling the scene from the evening before,
she bounced out of bed and ran 'cross the floor.
Descending the stairs and towards the great hall
she stopped and stared, upon noticing them all...

The maids and the Tamers and the Digimon too,
all sat eating breakfast as if they hadn't a clue.
The star was replaced, the lights were all straight,
the stocking was filled-- oh, but... wait...

She had been standing there staring, like a child possessed,
she had also remembered she had yet to get dressed...
There were pancakes and presents, and a feeling of family,
as the day went on, she found herself feeling... bubbly.

By evening she had heard, of a story passed down
from Digimon to Digimon, shared town to town.
For the young ones who wander too far into night,
the elves of the darkness will grant them a light.

They listen for wishes and watch over all.
But once a year, a magnanimous ball,
held to dance and be merry and to build up their power
they say if you're awake, you'd see, for an hour...

The red of the moon turns a pure, snow white
"In the darkness within, one can find a light."
But that's only a story, one meant to give hope.
Just an old 'mon's tale, once used just to cope.

No such thing as a ball or a great bunch of elves
It just means we should look inside ourselves.
To find our lost way and to help us do right,
Merry Christmas to all, may you all find your light.
