Early Deaths need that sudden/shock factor, so a retcon just wouldn't be the same ; 3;

^^; Pretty much everything checked off has multiple instances. The couple with more than one check mark (such as everyone's favorite, SUFFERING!) are simply stylistic >_>

Wait, River was introduced in season 2, he died the ass beginning of Season 3. How does that not count? What, because I gave him more time than your usual Gundam SEED orange shirt?

No, quite the opposite! Well, not on the "time" factor >_> The fact that River got spotlight and love of course factored more into the potency of his death.

But Siri Arc was already years into DU and past its DARK TWISTs. For DU to merit an "Early Death", somebody important would have had to die during Season 1. Like, in the middle of Freelancers vs Crowns shenanigans, BAM, unexpected death!

(Edit: And kinda, but not quite Red Shirt, Ben. More like a Red Shirt Captain/Officer.)

Deaths, yes. But the "Early Death" trope doesn't apply to anonymous deaths. It has to be someone who seems like a main/important character of some sort - Basically PC-level. Neither the Random Initiative Member or Guy Whose Bowels Adrian Ruined come close to qualifying <_<

If only I'd thought to build them up and give them heartwarming backstories! D:
