Idea Pitch: Digi-Rider SENSE

Idea Pitch: Digi-Rider SENSE

See the World. Hear the Helpless. Smell the Danger. Taste the Fear. Touch the Future.

Ishiki City, home to 10 million citizens and nestled in the Pacific Ocean equidistant from the Japanese and US Coastlines.

Built as a man-made monument to the technological advances in society, Ishiki City was a joint venture undertaken by several members of the United Nations in response to overpopulation in large portions of eastern Asia. Funded largely in part by the United States and China while engineered by the brightest minds in the Republic of Korea and Germany, the artificial land-mass took shape in late 2020 (A.D.) The initial flow of immigration was a controlled affair with heavy preference given to the over-populated continent of Asia, but in recent years Ishiki City has grown to become a melting pot of culture and art with no rival in the modern world. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Ishiki City has become a crowning example of man's ability to overcome nature and rise triumphant.

But as in the old tales, hubris oftentimes leads to an inevitable downfall. And beneath the depths of the ocean upon which Ishiki City rests, something sinister has begun to stir.

The more specific-ish concepts you told me about are an interesting sort of take on wrangling up a group of Riders with a matching powerset and Digimon themes. With Graham and Jess now swimming in Rider waters in addition to Cam and myself, and Canadian Ben's love of superheroes/comics, there'd probably be enough interest.

It's just... DU sidegames don't have a great track record ;_; It's a general activity issue; DU works because there's usually several things going on in the event that some stall out for a bit, but the same approach won't work with a sidegame anymore since there's not enough activity/time to support a sidegame with a scale like DU's. I do think it can be done with the right amount of loving guidance, creativity, and occasional patience, though x 3x The approach that Graham's taken with them more recently that feels like it works just as long as nobody gets terribly discouraged by things stalling here and there is a narrative "episodic" approach. A single progressive narrative as opposed to DU's open world. Basically one thread going at a time, each thread essentially correlates to an episode and can lead directly into the next thread or the next thread can jump ahead a bit however pacing needs require.
