TALGEESE IS DEAD

Today we mourn the passing of a friend, Cam's macbook, Talgeese, has given up its spark.... finally. Talgeese was on its last legs since I've known Cam it seems. it's like that tiny dog your aunt has that's been around longer than YOU have, and your about 20 years old. The dog, whom your certain when no one else is around, asks you to end its prolonged existance... >> sorry, old gag from Spin City, you know that show with Michael J Fox in the mayors office?

Anyway. Cam's macbook finally gave up its ghost and from the sound of it, by the weekend he should have a minimac. problem is, none of the data could be recovered, though Cam figured that. he's not upset.

Actually I'm getting a Macbook Pro. I figured that the extra is for convenience of movement, ya know, since I have no desk. That and since the old man is running with me on this and it may very well be the last big favor I can call in for awhile I might as well make it good.

But yes. Sad to say all the DU art I did is gone, so I'll be recoloring all the art I've done for it thus far. That will be a pain, but meh, maybe I can do it better. I lost some other shit but I honestly don't give ten shits. I probably didn't access over half of it anyway, and majority was backed up to an external.

Tallgheese has been a faithful computer, and compared to others has been quite trouble free except in his end days Though I wish the relationship could have ended on a better note, I can only wish my loyal iBook the peace it finally deserves, after slugging it out with all my projects and experiments, and carrying me to graduation.

Tallgheese has been bled on, has been witness to not one but three different relationships, been through seven roommates, countless friends, countless enemies, and many travels, from Houston to Florida to Georgia to Japan, all the while giving the best it could do with limited hardware AND software. Though I am sad to see him go, we all must meet our end. He went suddenly, but quietly.

Tallgheese is the last of my computers to be named after a mobile suit from Gundam Wing, as the next will probably be named after the ones in Gundam 00. I'll probably be named after the titular Gundam, or maybe just Exia. Leaning towards Double-O.

Tallgheese is survived by Haro, my external HD, Zetsuei, my little iPod Shuffle, first generation, and my latest acquisition and the last to see him alive (and incidentally part of the reason he finally died), my iPod, Shinkiro, who after transferring my music to the new computer will be renamed to something else Gundam 00 related.

Thank you for all your years of service, Tallgheese. Now sleep..your war is over.
