Faction Overview
A rogue group of Tamers who utilize the powers of darkness, their overall goal appears to be mass subjugation of the Digital World not through violence, but coercion.
Base of Operations
Castle Obscura, a large fortress owned by the Obscura Clan of Vampire-type Digimon; it is situated in the city of Shadowveil in Nightwhisper Caverns, in the Digital World's Media Archipelago.
Faction-Specific Capabilities
- Loyal Bite
- Members of the order are indoctrinated by being bitten either by a Corebat without a Persona Plate (face), by Kasumi, or by a member of the Obscura family. To this date, Kasumi has personally bitten all but Harold when they joined the order. Though seen as a sensual gesture, it has a hidden motivation.
- Dispel Bite
- In the event a member of the order acts against it, the bite becomes extremely debilitating, wracking the wrongdoer with excruciating pain until they prove their loyalty otherwise or Kasumi bans them from the order with the Dispel Bite. If Kasumi wills it, the bite will be lethal, though she prefers to use the bite to track them down and have the traitor drained of all of their blood. Once she achieves higher power levels, Kasumi can effectively turn a traitor into a form of zombie slave, though only if she found the person attractive in life. Obscura family members (all but Diva and Gritta) can do this already.
- Farewell Bite
- A more rare bite but still important to note, this is dealt only by Kasumi or an Obscura family member in the event leaving the order is made on more amicable terms. Upon being done, the previous bite marks vanish and the one bitten loses all memory of how to access Castle Obscura or the Dark Gates, as well as access to the Corebats. The Digivice will change back to whatever model it was before being bitten.
- Indoctrinating Bite
- Kasumi or any of the above bites the new member, affecting their LoE to change the form of their Digivice. Also links the new member to a Corebat. This power was granted by Ronwemon.
Member Abilities
- Unchained
- Granted through a Corebat's "Empowering Bite". When bitten by a Corebat, this activates the power up, granting more monstrous abilities to the wielder. Unchained form lasts for ten posts.
- Overdrive
- A second bite by the Corebat further empowers "Unchained" to "Overdrive". However, this is an absolute last resort. This form lasts for three posts. If deactivation is denied, it will kill the one bitten. If deactivation is allowed, then the user will almost immediately lose consciousness and not awaken for days.
- Weapon
- Activated by being bitten by a Corebat; called "Armed Bite"; this turns the Corebat into a weapon of the wielder’s choice, though whatever state it takes, once done, that weapon is kept for as long as the user is a member of the order.
- Full Unchained
- For the moment only wielded by Kasumi. If bitten by both Corebat and Diva, this fully unlocks the Vampire Code within Kasumi, granting her far more power, speed, and dexterity at the cost of temporary insanity. However, this ability is only to be used in emergency, as shutting it off is difficult and it speeds up the D-Human conversion process.
Of note, once Kasumi is a D-Human, she can enact Full Unchained on any member by biting them along with their Corebat, instilling a “Monster Code” within them.
Views on Other Factions
I do believe Kasumi finds them all delicious in varying flavors...
