An Immortality Code is a bit of Data that is implanted into a Digimon's Data Core. This can only be done by the Royal Knights at the present time. Originally, it was a purview of the two Core Intelligences of the Digital World. An Immortality Code has been described by the few who hold one as "both a blessing and a curse".
Though once thought to just be a "cruel and pointless whim" of the Royal Knights, indications of something more have begun to surface.
Effects
- The code prevents ability to reproduce, which prevents a species from repopulating.
- The code prevents the Digimon from ever being Deleted, however, this does not save them from returning to a Digitama if the damage level is sufficient.
- Depending on the code's parameters, they may or may not retain all their memories, but the effect will always be very painful when use of the Code is triggered.
- This code protects a Digitama from being scanned or destroyed.
- This code prevents the Digitama from returning to Primary Village, placing them in danger of being lost, sealed, or even corrupted.
