Umbromon are mysterious and deadly Shadow Demons, and are well-known, feared, Assassins in the Digital World.
Etymology
Latin: The verb umbro, "to cast a shadow; to overshade", derived from umbra, "shadow".
Background
Perhaps the most dangerous aspect of Umbromon, as anyone from the Digital World will tell you, is the assassins' shapeshifting capability-- Umbromon bodies are very malleable, acting almost boneless, and Thanatos is no exception, shaping his body to fit his master's desire. A secondary danger of the feared assassins is their teleportation capability, preceded by a soft "cracking" sound and a whirl of pungent blue-black smoke.
Umbromon stand about 5' on their hind legs, and their tail adds another 2' to them. Their overall form is a mixture of anthropoid and bestial influences, with a smooth face, low-slung maw, and bright yellow, cat-like eyes. Their skin is black and smooth, almost oily, but is decorated in a network of thin, spidery tattoos of alien design that glow like embers.
On their head and moving down his neck there is a mane of hair, spiky and keratinous to the touch. Their teeth are white and exceedingly sharp, capable of cutting skin through muscle and sinew easily, as are their bright red, steak-knife-like claws, of which they have four on each hand. Their tails are lashing and prehensile.
Generally, they wear a long, flowing white cloak with a red-rimmed hood that cover their face.
The Umbromon Home-City is called "Mekhai" and is located within the Crimson Monastery of Nightwhisper Caverns. They have a very close relationship with the current Zone Master; Nyarlathmon.

Dark energies are channeled into his claw, enlarging it to a huge size, which he then drives into the enemy, tearing out anything he can, organs, sinew, and bone.
