Been working a LOT on my face shapes, and as such, I've been redesigning some of my characters. Some Bayonetta escaped through the subliminal cracks here, but I'm totes okay with it, especially since Cereza reminds me a lot of how Cassandra acted before she got married.

For some reason, the spiderwebs seem to draw my attention the most for a big ol' "Holy damn". lol

She seems a lot younger in this, like we're seeing a pic of her in her younger days rather than now, but it might just be her "goth"-style appearance. Which I really like, but it just feels like a different character than the one I think of. ^^; lol

I wouldn't as much say "renewed" youthfulness, just that this is a different side of Cassandra, since I think most prior art of her has been of her more "professional" side? o 3o;

The makeup+clothing just make a big difference. I really like it. Both in terms of showing more of Cassandra and then just the style in general... since of our huge roster, Jade's kinda the only other character with any sort of tilt in any sort of goth/scene/whatever-you-wanna-call-it direction.

The skin in particular did turn out really nicely. o 3o Shiny buttons errywhere!

The uniform still looks really cool, just maybe need to throw on a few Initiative symbols with the winged gear, possibly some sort of THESEUS seal (like the various eagle motifs used by the US Army/Navy/Marines; I imagine THESEUS has some sorta variant on the winged gear motif. ICARUS has the winged boy or just his wing, ORPHEUS would have the lyre, maybe THESEUS has like a sword crossing through the gear or something? Dunnolol). A flag for Mirai to indicate her posting might help, or the UN given the whole UNCF connection.

ANYWAY. It's rad tho. o 3o;

Agreed. o 3o We at least have a rough idea to go on from the initial sketch you did with the ribbons/awards and such, but it can be expanded on.

For now it's neat to see how someone actually looks in it.

I am definitely digging this. It just looks so damn clean and a definite contrast from the almost State Alchemist -esque combat uniforms.

We need to have like an Initiative Ball or something to use this in, maybe a meeting of ranked officials on the Shai-Hulud. >.> Would be a nice prequel event to that THING, right Graham?

As for a flag... lemme see if I can't get some sketches done today for a potential Mirai Archipelago flag. Though I do support the use of the UN forces, there should still be the flag of Mirai to tell their acquired forces from the rest of them.

Rough sketch designs of the Daedalus THESEUS dress blues.

ignore the ribbon designs. I just threw on random color to show what decorated officers would look like.

Colors vary depending on what Division they're from. Pants/skirt are based on the Division's color and the trim is the complementary color of said fabric. Blazer color is a very dark, very desaturated version of the Division color. Only highly-ranked Officers have cords or members of the band/drill team/etc.

Will do a more detailed version in the near future I believe.

Girls also don't HAVE to wear the skirt. They can wear the pants.

Given that their Civilian Covers are Military, this works rather well for that. ^^ I like the designs.

I'm reminded of when I did Dress Uniforms for the Guard Teams in DDT. It was one part Gundam SEED Destiny and one part Star Trek. lol >_> I believe the excuse was that they had them, they just never wore the damned things. XD To be fair, half the Guard Tamers also didn't use their D-Tanks either, so there's probably something to be said for DDT Chars, "not using what was issued". <_<; XD

I was going to note, these work both for formal events (conferring promotions, awards, etc. within the Initiative) and for the cover of totally being UN Combined Forces officers/NCOs.

(The UNCF is what I picture is Mirai's mundane military--since it's kind of a joint project of various nations, it doesn't really raise its own army so much as just use the UN's.)

My only nitpick would be to watch the thickness/boldness of the lines around the nose like that; I think the shading could have carried the definition on this one better than a dark outline.

Dark outline is more to emphasize she's mixed race. Her nose isn't as soft and lacking detail like a Caucasian nose, but being half Caucasian it did soften and lengthen the feature a bit.

Aside from the neck issues I mentioned earlier, I really dig this design. The facial features definitely show a difference of race and the color palette looks delightful. I also like the plain contrast to Jasmine. Blues has an interesting entourage.

I feel the shadows under Langhuamon's bust could have been extended downwards more to really get that roundness, but that really only applies to the petals and not the breasts themselves which are hard to look past because oh my jimmy damn.

I am digging the more mature look, and that's saying something considering I try to add little touches like baby fat and more roundness to better portray youth.

That said, the girl has been through some shit, having to be more mature than expected especially in the early days of Soma's death.

It was fun watching you draw this. I believe the first step in taking over a character is really trying to make the designs your own. Make them something you are comfortable with looking at and the stories become easier to do.

......Um... THIS. I mean... damn you made the extra weight look good on her. The added roundness looks DAMN good on her and I'm glad you could translate her head better than I did originally.

I think the graphic for her eyes during DE usage could use a little work. The numbers around them are a good start but maybe an additional line or two around the pupil might help. Try looking at the mutant Psylocke for telekinetic graphic ideas.

Partner to a character of mine that I'll be writing short stories for. Ishtar is a sentient XGenomon that originally hails from LEO division, but is asked by Katharine to join TAURUS so that she could better be studied for the sake of all Genomon.

Worked with Cam so as that we could have proper references on what Genomon look like under their helms.

Funny you mention the Luka thing. I did base Whitney's dress off of my original costume design for Luka... granted most of that design was in the sleeve-work. The rest of Whitney's outfit is classic empress-style waist-line.
