Attribute Data

Trailmon are an unusual group of similar Machine-type Digimon, all of whom are modeled after various types of passenger train or locomotive. There is no Digimon literally called "Trailmon", however, they refer to themselves as such since they have heard both Humans and Digimon refer to them collectively that way. Their Types have become their 'names' over the course of the years of service.

Etymology

English: "Trail".

Background

Generally, Trailmon are very large Digimon (which makes sense, given their basis), which serve as a form of Transportation in the Digital World. They carry Digimon, cargo, and Tamers from Terminal to Terminal on their vast network of rails around the Digital World. Stories persist that they are capable of breaking the World Barrier, but no one's ever confirmed this rumor...

Various Types operate on various routes, and each faction seems to have their own Custom Type that has chosen to assist or serve them.

Terminal City

Musashi - A navy blue Trailmon with a white slanted face design with a gold crescent moon visor, his head looking like it was in a navy blue, black trim samurai helmet. Another interesting feature was on the sides of the engine itself were a pair of short, yet wide, sheathed katana. His route mostly services Little Edo from the central Terminal.

Fractal Vale

Great Hammer

Clockwork Savannah

Nightwhisper Caverns

Ghost - A dark Trailmon who picked up the service line through Shadowveil. He explained that it wasn't a line many Trailmon seemed to like to continue servicing.[N 1] He has a verbal tic of ending his sentences with "-goso". [N 2]

Blindstorm Point

Luminous Islands

Though there is no Trailmon that goes upward to the Islands themselves, there is a Terminal in the area that will allow you to connect to the floating islands through other means.

Encode Sea

There is no one Trailmon that services the route around the coast of the Digital World, but not every Trailmon has a route that connects to the coastal areas.

Attacks

Cool Running
The Trailmon gains a boost of speed for a short burst of time.
Emergency Brake Spark
Shoots sparks at an enemy by slamming on its brakes.

Notes
  1. ^ "Lots of other Trailmon seem to give up this line after a while, goso... I suppose because it's kind of boring, goso?" --Ghost ("Finding an Angel Among the Demons")
  2. ^ "goso" is an onomatopoeia term for a rustling or rummaging sound. It can also sound like steam escaping, which Ghost seems to do...
